Whether it is on or off campus, a part-time job can help reduce costs, give you on-the-job experience, and build your professional network. Check out our Part-Time Job resources or our handy information sheet with steps to finding a position.
The first place we suggest looking for a part-time job is our Hire System. About one week after you have enrolled in your fall classes, you will be able to login and start searching for both on and off campus postings.
How to use the Hire System to find part-time jobs
On-Campus positions usually offer 12 to 20 hours of work per week. Positions vary from clerical, technical, food service or general labor positions.
Off-campus positions are more varied in their duties, may offer more hours, and could give you the chance to develop and enhance your skills in your chosen field.
Advantages of having a part-time job during college:
Earn money to help pay for educational expenses
Helps ease the home-to-college transition
Develop professional contacts for future career
Build a solid employment history
Enhance time management skills
