Federal Work-Study
Despite the way it sounds, “Work-Study” does not refer to jobs that pay you to study! Work-study is a form of financial aid in which the Federal Government pays a portion of your paycheck. Nearly all on-campus, and some local non-profit jobs, can be filled by work-study recipients.
If you are interested in Federal Work-Study, follow the above steps to see if you qualify and to determine your award amount.
The Facts About Federal Work-Study:
- Provides part-time jobs for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with financial need, allowing them to earn money
- Encourages community service and work related to your course of study
- OSU determines your award amounts on the basis of financial need from the FAFSA
- There is limited funding, so not all students qualify
If you have not already completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and plan to do so for the upcoming year, we encourage you to do so now!
