Virtual Recruiting - Connection Sessions
Connection sessions allow you to present your company to OSU students in a relaxed environment in order to provide information about your organization and any potential career opportunities. We have developed three levels of marketing to help you get the most out of your virtual session.
Cost: Free
Actions for Success:- Set up your virtual Connection Session utilizing your own platform (Zoom, Gotomeetings, etc.)
- Send your session information to your recruiting partner 14 days before your event. Information should include:
- Session name
- Session date/time
- Session link
- Session description
- Session point of contact: Name, phone, and email
- Is student registration required? Yes/No
- Number of attendees permitted
- Any attachments – flyer, graphics, image, etc.
- Advertise your session utilizing:
- OSU student organization lists at Campuslink.com
- Your personal contacts on campus – previous interns, professors, sponsored organizations
- Text students you have recruiting relationships with (previous interns, campus ambassadors, etc.)
- Post about your session on your social media platforms
- Consider advertising your session with the O’Colly – OSU’s student newspaper
- Present your virtual Connection Session on the selected date/time.
Career Services will:
- Post your session as an event to the OSU Hire System
- Include your session on the HireOSUGrads.com calendar

- Send your marketing materials along with the following session information to your recruiting partner 14 days before your event. Information should include:
- Session name
- Session date/time
- Session link
- Session description
- Session point of contact: Name, phone, and email
- Is student registration required? Yes/No
- Number of attendees permitted
- Any attachments – flyer, graphics, image, etc.
- Advertise your session utilizing:
- OSU student organization lists at Campuslink.com

Career Services will:
- Set up your virtual Connection Session utilizing our virtual platform and create a link for you and OSU students to access
- Post your session as an event to the OSU Hire System
- Include your session on the HireOSUGrads.com calendar
- Include your session in our Week-at-a-Glance eNewsletter – sent out on Sunday prior to your session
- Include your session in a specific “Upcoming Connection Sessions” email to all OSU students the week prior to your session
- Email identified student group 24 hours prior to your session to encourage attendance
- Share your marketing on Career Services social media
- Your Career Services recruiting partner will serve as your virtual Connection Session event facilitator.
- They will be present to troubleshoot, manage the chat feature, record the session and provide recording to you for distribution after the event
To ensure students have access to your open positions, your jobs will need to be posted in the Hire System seven days prior to your connection session.
Connection sessions will not be scheduled during the week of Feb. 22 – 26th, unless you are also attending one or more of the career fairs during that time.
While OSU Career Services will make every agreed upon effort to ensure student participation, we are unable to guarantee attendance at your virtual connection session.
