Connection Sessions

Connection sessions allow you to provide information about your organization and any potential career opportunities to OSU students in a relaxed environment. To ensure students have access to your open positions, your jobs will need to be posted in the Hire System at least seven days prior to your connection session.


Employer Action Items for Success:

1. Contact your recruiting partner to make plans and discuss if a connection session is right for you. For optimal success, host your connection session the evening prior to your on-campus interviews. The following items will need to be determined before booking the event:
   1. Session date/time
   2. Session name
   3. Session description
   4. Session point of contact - Presenter name, phone, and email
   5. Session add-on refreshments - drinks, cookies, or pizza
   
   Your connection session will be located in the OSU Student Union and your room reservation will be booked through Career Services with OSU Meeting & Conference Services.


2. Advertise your session utilizing:
   1. OSU student organization list at Campuslink.com
   2. Your personal contacts on campus – previous interns, professors, sponsored organizations
   3. Post your session on your social media platforms
   4. Consider advertising your session with the O’Colly (OSU’s student newspaper)


3. Host your connection session on the selected date/time. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to test and familiarize yourself with the space and equipment.

Career Services will:

1. Post your session as an event to the OSU Hire System


2. Include your session on the HireOSUGrads.com calendar


3. Include your session in our student's e-newsletter, sent out on Monday prior to your session

While OSU Career Services will make every agreed upon effort to ensure student participation, we are unable to guarantee attendance at your connection session.
