  • Through a pre-selection process, employer post on-campus interview schedule through our HIRE System.
  • List specific criteria such as major(s) or job classification.
  • Qualified students then apply online to the posted positions.
  • Employer then pre-select the candidates they wish to interview on campus and simply show up on the designated day(s).
  • In some cases, employer have identified their candidates to interview and simply need a room on campus to conduct the interview. OSU Career Services can provide room only services as well.

Employers can schedule time to make a formal presentation to students, providing information about their organization or its career opportunities. In most cases, the information sessions are scheduled in the evening and are about one hour long. It is a great way to introduce your organization to interested students and to informally network with students during/after the event. Several different catering options are available, as well as full multi-media capabilities.

Traditional On-Campus Recruiting
Traditional on-campus recruiting is designed to provide on-campus interviewing facilities and an application system for candidates prior to your visit. We have designed a system that is both employer and student friendly. One of the key success factors for using our on-campus recruiting program is early preparation. We will need several weeks advance notice to use this system.

OSU Career Services uses an online system called the HIRE System to facilitate the on-campus recruiting process.  Students use the HIRE System to view position information, submit resumes and sign up for interviews.

Communicating with Students
Each school has a different procedure for coordinating the on-campus recruiting process. In an effort to help you communicate effectively with students at Oklahoma State University, we recommend you send a copy of all correspondence and advertisements to our office for review before it is sent to students or published in the newspaper. We will help ensure you have accurately explained our procedures to the students.
» Applications
Students apply directly to companies they would like to interview with using the HIRE System.  Students do not need to come to the Career Services office to apply.
» Interview Sign-Up
Students also sign-up for interviews using the HIRE System. If you would like to encourage students to sign up, please ask them to do so through their HIRE System accounts.

Career Fairs & Next Day Interviews
In an effort to maximize your opportunities for recruiting on-campus, we are providing a number of quality career fairs that are targeted toward special student populations and employment needs. Recruiters have found great success in attending these career fairs, collecting resumes and scheduling candidates who participate for interviews. These events offer company representatives a chance to expose students to the types of services and opportunities that exist within their companies.

If you are interested in this recruiting method, call HIRE Team early so we can reserve a room for you. This has been an increasingly popular method of recruiting and we recommend that you call us as soon as you decide. Requests will be honored on a first-come-first serve basis.

Internships
If your company is interested in gaining the competitive edge in recruiting highly sought-after students, we recommend you offer internships. Internships are meaningful, challenging work experiences offered by employers for students, usually full-time in the summer and part-time in the fall and spring. Internships are one of the best ways to recruit quality students early and evaluate their skills, abilities and potential for full-time employment.

Other method of interviewing
OSU Career Services also provides three different options for employers who would like to do a remote interview.
» Webcam Interviews
OSU Career Services offers an onsite webcam so students can interview remotely with employers.  All you need on your end is a webcam, microphone, high speed internet connection, and Windows Internet Browser.

» Teleconference Interviews
OSU Telecommunication offers a variety of online conferencing services.  We are happy to coordinate with their office and yours to conduct full teleconferencing interviews. There will be fees associated with this option.

» Telephone Interviews
We are always happy to provide a phone and quiet office space for students so that employers can have an option to interview students over the phone.  This service is usually used by students who want to avoid the possibility of a dropped call or get away from a hectic living space.
